MULTIPETAL CLIVIA

Pine Mountain Nursery specialises in multipetal clivia.  Clivia normally have 6 tepals ("petals") but multipetal clivia have more than 6.  Often multipetal clivia are unstable, meaning that the umbel may contain a range of flower types from 6, 7, 8, 10, and 12 tepals.   Clivia that have a relatively uniform number of tepals such as 8 or 12 are more valuable as it takes a number of generations to achieve that level of stability/uniformity. To be considered a multipetal I need them to have at least 3 multipetal flowers to work on for developing better multipetals.  Pine Mountain Nursery is also developing clivia with double flowers that contain many more petals than multipetal clivia through our breeding efforts with supermultipetal clivia.  Set out below are either near flowering size or flowering size multipetal clivia.  They are one offs, that is, there is only one of each plant available.  All the hard work and risk in growing them has been done.  If interested in any of these plants please email us with your requirements and an invoice will be made up.  The price listed includes GST ex nursery.  They can be picked up in pots or posted bare root.
